Gooper

Basic

Goopers are gelatinous creatures found across Tenebrous Isle. These slimes are native to the island but have multiplied rapidly as the corruption spread. On their own, a single Gooper poses little threat -- their movements are sluggish and they attack with simple leaps. However, when several of them appear together, they can quickly box you in and overwhelm you with numbers.

Type
Slime
Threat
Low (High in groups)
Behavior
Slow, jumping

Combat Tips

  • They creep forward at a leisurely pace and occasionally hop toward you
  • Easy to deal with one-on-one, but a cluster of them can quickly become dangerous
  • Wide-sweeping weapons like the Nightstar are effective when multiple Goopers group up
  • Take them out fast before they have a chance to surround you

Mini-Bosses

Hulk Trooper

Mini-Boss

The Hulk Trooper is a beefed-up variant of the standard Shock Trooper, noticeably larger and far more aggressive. Thanks to its imposing size and surprising speed, it can close the distance quickly and strike across a wide area, making it tough to escape once it locks onto you.

Type
Enhanced Trooper
Base Form
Shock Trooper
Threat
High

Combat Tips

  • Its bulk and quick movement give it an unusually long attack reach
  • Trying to simply run away is not effective -- it will hunt you down relentlessly
  • Dodge its strikes by burrowing underground and repositioning
  • Wait for it to finish an attack animation, then punish the recovery window
  • The Blaststrike Maul's charged attack grants invincibility frames, letting you absorb a hit while dealing heavy damage
